The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 具有多译性的片子，不仅讲男人，女人，婚姻，宗教，生育，社会等不同面但唯独和恐怖不粘边。
生育，侮辱，教条，暴力，威胁，死亡……他们一个个地“分娩”出来，想用这些将她们束缚起来，但是她们也会反抗，也会拿起匕首，操起斧头，以彼之道还施彼身。A24的部分恐怖片总是让我为之震撼，这一次更甚：继承了《遗传厄运》《仲夏夜惊魂》等片的恐怖渲染，又带有《阴风阵阵》那一般令人瞠目结舌的结局，《男人》属实是炎炎夏日的“透心凉”，指头皮发麻。
视觉美学是挺厉害的，厌男倒也是刻画到了极致，但挺流于形式和表面的。
一个不快乐的男人，就是一只专吸女人血的吸血鬼。
氛围感拉满，视听上很享受很适合大银幕。但是这种主题是不是非要用一种奇怪到变着花招吸引眼球的程度来呈现呢？
不要相信屁话拿好武器保护自己ಠ_ಠ……ps 男男套娃着实有点cult了……
太喜欢A24这种奇怪兮兮表达方式，而且把女(性）权表达得不让人反感，真喜欢
前面一整套拳打的都不错，这个结尾也未免太超现实主义了吧。

明白前面是渲染气氛呢，就是质感差了点，有点太故弄玄虚了，你看林奇如果搞这一套就肯定让人后背发凉，这还是导演疯批程度和艺术水准的差距。后面四次大分娩着实惊人，这个段落的不适感值得反复观摩。到底男人要啥？结论是要爱，女主一听就毫不震惊，当然了，除了这个还能要啥，男人终究是巨婴罢了。
和湮灭一脉相承的creepy。隐喻的意思到了，还是稍嫌老生常谈。
