The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 周末被妈妈拖去看的！当时手边的一部电影刚要看完，所以上半段没怎么进入状态......我开始期待是猜中了佛像肯定是假的哈哈哈！（然而是又不是w）线索推进挺快的，这点很好，要吐槽的是那个啥特效叽里咕噜的一点都不炫酷好么(￣∇￣)就一股无聊的大人画风（不过年代和服装也的确是）哦对！！我印象比较深的地方是辛芷蕾真的好适合这种花绿绿的胖棉袄，她一脸飒气又妩媚拿着那串钥匙，真的会让人感觉是坐拥好几套宅子和一大堆金元宝把老公踩在脚底下玩弄的女人23333！！特别戳我泪点的反而是回忆，许和平一个人在街上买包子，周遭热热闹闹的，只有他坚守着他的孤独、想念和秘密，就好心酸。这条主线背后的故事我会记很久。
谜题的编织很好看，即便看到中间猜到了谜底，结局也依然有一种感动。但人物也是一贯的没魅力（可以说延续了那个谁的作品的特性吧）。对女性角色的塑造可以说是负分了。
技术上完成的还是挺不错的，看完了。不过拍的挺夸张化有点严重
有点无聊，电视剧没看过，电影更觉得很平淡。
相当不错，情节紧凑不拖沓，各种谜题也简单有趣，雷佳音、辛芷蕾、葛优的喜剧效果都不错，看的很开心。 电影的时代感不说多出色，但是也足够了。不过最后那两锤子砸的真狠啊，就不怕把佛头砸坏吗，哈哈。
就很轻松爽快地看完了，也不咋过脑。解谜的部分还是精彩的，完整度也很高，手松打个四星也不为过。
直接给我看退场了，人物走马观花得出来，线索动机凌乱无比，一星只给鉴宝时的特效吧
后半段尴尬死了。在火车站也是乱糟糟的。尤其到郑村，我觉得所有人都尴尬。电影院还有没有好片子了呀？李现这个演法，我觉得活脱脱就是另一个胡歌。辛芷蕾，雷佳音，葛大爷，杨新鸣，真是亏了这些好演员了。有几个熟面孔是惊喜，张世豪，咏梅等。

我多希望有一天能像看“电影”一样的看我们自己的国产电影，就是什么都有，百花齐放，百家争鸣，只是现实是除了那些还是那些，忍不住一声叹息。古董局中局，剧情一波三折，内心却毫无波澜，因为看到里面杀戮的场景，什么山头里的疯子，只手遮天的大佬，车水马龙的黑市我就想笑，今天看来特别不真实，甚至更像是一个传说，怎么可能呢？有吗？不可能，我没见过（除了只手遮天的大佬），这些早就被灭了吧？拿到佛头你还不上交，还想玩这些花样，怕是活腻了吧？
原著看了开头一部分就看不下去了，影片的解谜寻宝的过程还是可以的，但各部分衔接较差，整体象电视剧水平，太平淡。
人物上，葛优是唯一立得住的一个。雷佳音表演到位但人物描写有些问题；李现万古不变扑克脸和干瘪台词生硬语调，大bug，和雷的每次对戏可谓“被秒成渣”。
没看过原著和电视剧，电影略仓促。演员不错，质感好。🉑
看之前很担心怎么浓缩原著，实际上主线抓取得相当不错，在有限时间内还是尽量拍出了更多内容，但又不会杂乱。
马伯庸，国风密逃大电影取之不竭的大宝库。大头和亲王赶紧🔒死！如果可以的话让葛大爷也加入，其他人都散了吧，真不是一路的。
有人负责演技，有人负责颜值，高下立判。仿佛埋了很多暗线，却没法一一解答，结果显得有点零散。
很规矩且纯熟的商业电影，太商业啦，李现演技不行啊，最后全靠葛优大爷卖脸煽情啊
唉 怎么说呢 亲王的故事本来就很好了 改编实在没必要 而且看最后剧情 没有拍第二部的意思 但是又留下好多疑点和坑 实在算不上高明
观影体验不错，完成度不低，是近期难得的工整、有艺术感、有审美，没有拉胯短板的类型片。演员阵容上，在内地演艺圈的集体演技洼地下，这片中的所有演员都已经算是大高原了，葛大爷更是演出了喜马拉雅、冈仁波齐一骑绝尘的味儿，无论是表和里都专治鸡蛋里挑骨头，片子档次一下就提上去了，太提气了。愿有一天，葛大爷的演技成为中国演艺界的底线（口嗨一下而已）。故事上，编剧是用心的了，拍卖行那段很惊艳。印象中李现在同一拨演员中算是演戏从不拉后腿的，本片中他引领的副线是有加分项的，有小双线的意思；雷佳音真是自带TVB男主角级别的好感度滤镜，和谁都有CP感。建议哥俩以后有机会多和葛付贵大爷拍点父子三人的喜感日常，加上辛芷蕾的那句，那三声爸，真是全片最顶的一段了。朱芸编的音乐做得也挺棒，是给哪吒配过乐的人没错了。PS郑国渠真香。
这剪辑…把原本可能挺好一网剧硬硬地剪成一电影，却连口型配音都对不上让人听着难受，配乐也好烂，以为董子健主演，原来看错，是郭子健导演手动狗头，雷佳音应该去演新版春光灿烂猪八戒，女主一言难尽…亏得葛大爷捧捧场，不知道为什么，同样是秃，葛大爷秃得就那么俊俏，给他加一星吧，药不然可就一星了，定位要清晰啊，回去搞网剧吧，别2了啦，哈欠连连，祥瑞御免。
