The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 7分。对这种加勒比风帆战舰的时代完全没有抵抗力呢~~~前半段完全是白鲸的故事设计，各种战斗设计还有画面效果都非常得我心，和披甲兽那段真得大赞~~但后半段是什么鬼？？一个从小长大的猎人，一个孤儿院跑出来的小孩，唯一的共同点就是父母都被海兽干掉了，最后竟然这么默契地就和解了？女孩子一通嘴炮直接把全国的人说动了？？我就好奇最后那将军知道自己在帝王号上的兄弟是被焰魔干掉的，会不会后悔没开炮。。。整个电影作为儿童片看看还是可以的，但太过宏大的主题就这么被无视还是有点可惜啊。
故事俗套，但画风之精细，细节之用心，三星稍显折辱，毕竟今年没啥好动画片看了呀。海兽全都可爱，圆滚滚的。但是女主的设定太过政治正确，非要黑人小女孩吗，再说她动不动就露出劲劲的、油腻的表情，好像抖音那个慢镜头歪嘴装帅哥的小学女生哦🙄
于是我去找了电影解说，看完解说后稍微明了了一点，但我依旧没有明白男主为什么对不要成为普通人有如此大的执念。
在赫尔辛基民宿和朋友刷网飞...修改教科书和媒体制造假想敌以及外部敌人来引导民意转移内部矛盾...红色敌人...emm...
6.5.大数据感满满的网飞流水线动画。情节照搬《驯龙高手》，场面类似《加勒比海盗》，外加种族构成极度多元化（甚至包括路人）的人物，一部政治正确动画伪大片新鲜出炉。几个打海怪的场面还行，就是最后居然又靠打嘴炮战胜统治阶级实在无语。
可惜的是海兽的世界观没有完全打开，尤其是在海兽岛上的时候，结尾好不容易走到了历史怀疑与战争本源上，但又合家欢地止步于此 3.5
看的生肉版，好在情节简单算是大概看明白了。画面还不错，但结局有点太简单，没有更深刻的东西。
。。。海兽版驯龙高手，所有情节都不出所料，但世界观和细节做得很好，对之后的故事还挺期待，如果有的话

这些从小就被灌输跨物种都是好朋友的美国小朋友为什么长大后组成了一个啥啥都对立的美国。
画面做的很精美，海盗冒险确实吸引人，期待出续集。

开篇非常好 热血男儿纵横四海猎杀海兽，剧情忽然变成和怪兽当朋友。之后故事就全面崩盘，想咋写咋写了。全片的流体渲染和镜头语言都非常不错，还是可以学习到的。
有很多亮点，令人着迷的海洋BDO做主角，古典文学式的海洋冒险（复仇、父与子等经典设定），用儿童合家欢动画讲反殖民故事，没有爱情戏，很多角色不突出性别或者是抛弃靠性别定位，非常自然地融入了种族多元化元素，海水cg做得非常逼真。也有槽点，海兽的造型和《驯龙高手》太像了，一时间感觉自己跑错片场，尾声收得一般，以及男主人公造型太油腻算吗（🤣
三星半。还行。但人物形象和海兽形象都不特别，剧情过得去但不精彩。
但他其实一直很普通，甚至不如大部分的普通人。
经典白男大叔配少数肤色萝莉再加一只萌宠，这个蓝色的鱼原型就是《夏日友情天》里住在深海的那个远方叔叔吧，头上有个灯的，蛮可爱的。其次是那一堆黄色的刚出生的小怪兽。
