The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 全片围绕打工仔凯带女友回家见婆婆这件事展开，影片中的笑料真实自然，与精心包装过的喜剧包袱相比，带有浓烈的生活气息。没有个体和城市命运的隐喻，有的只是生活中最琐碎平常的细节，但影片却异常抓人，看得人津津有味。
虽然导演和剪辑手法生疏，但故事讲得还不错，方言类型多一星鼓励 20220228
潮汕文化部分表现得很好，家人的角色演得都很自然很真实。不过确实如很多人所说，后面的转折过于突然和平淡，前面花了大量篇幅在铺垫，矛盾凸显的时刻有点晚了。
这么个简单到有点土的片子竟然把我感动得稀里哗啦的。音乐也配得太煽了。

很厉害，拍的挺好！摄影特别用心，剪辑上安排也有细腻的镜头，没有什么特别尬的感觉（有的话，就是在深圳的，在深圳画面很容易尬，生涩），从片子整体来说十分自然了，接地气，身为喜欢看电影的潮汕人，我走心了！
算卦这个设计尤其精妙，之前总在藏族题材的影片中看到。
小成本佳作。虽然表演略显生涩，但剧本完成度好，音乐好听，感情饱满却没有故意煽情。
潮汕的风景民俗拍得太好了，市井烟火简直要溢出屏幕。

制作中规中矩，亮点不足，故事无比现实却闪烁着人性的光辉。
真的是好电影。后一半哭了很多纸巾我怎么回事。演员真的太到位了，尤其是我好爱妈妈啊。
