The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 通过各种巨象化和分形制造神迹，最后一切归零，回到起点，从全宇宙落点到个人的内心。淀真嗣可以说是最反类型的主角，但也可以说是最类型的主角。期待大银幕的视觉饕餮。
这是一部让庵野导演回归起点的作品。
按科学的命名法，近第三次冲击应该叫做quasi third impact而不是near三。配乐拉胯，随便用个巴赫或大俗威安魂或者Janacek的Glagolitic Mass也要好得多。

庵野还是少弄点奇观吧，在村里四十多分钟的内容很是乏力，尤其是给丽体验的描写，真顶不上《倒a》半集。影片后面给所有角色的符号式和解方式，像是明日香的摸头、渚薰的握手，可能正像齐泽克谈到作为容器的《欢乐颂》一样，掩饰不住这个动作本身的空洞
