The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 常规梦幻童话韩剧，阳光照进沟渠，王子找到灰姑娘，痴情久候只为你。是个惬意的日子跟喜欢的人一起看的幸福电影。
看完电影，我觉得导演是一位非常会讲故事的人。他在对“生死”思索一个大的建构下，同时包含了很多分支的小主题，比如养老问题、父辈的爱情、当代感情的快餐化以及拆迁、送礼等许多现代一些社会问题的体现，虽然只是一部50多分钟的电影，但却绘制出了一个社会的横截面。这个电影中反复出现的台词，“回家”以及最后夏天父母在老宅去世的场景也是体现了中国最传统的落叶归根的古朴乡归思潮。作为一名晚辈，我觉得导演是非常值得我去学习的，因为了解到他并非科班出生，所以其中的辛苦肯定不言而喻。最后希望山西会有更多优秀的导演～
