The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 因为与传奇伟大相去甚远
这种人社会里有不少，可惜能冒尖的真是凤毛麟角；有人为他树碑立传，也不枉他人世走一圈了。
「音樂劇」部分密集但印象深的音樂卻不多；「電影」部分的劇情和拍法都乏善可陳，ending的友情線高潮顯然比整部戲的愛情戲要可觀得多。整部戲主要靠剪輯上舞台與戲劇的對切塑造節奏，相信做成舞台劇其實會更有感染力。
《Come To Your Senses》好聽！
好喜欢啊，一开场的30/90就抓住了我的心，因为我也刚好29岁，真的滴答滴答的声音一直在耳边响起，被时间被时间的观念所追着跑的感觉真的好强烈，每一幕都很流畅剧情和歌都配合的很好，对音乐剧多了一份好奇，是本年度最喜欢的电影之一。电影与音乐剧结合真的好好，加菲没想到这么能唱，能看出来为了角色准备了很多，演绎上我觉得是满分的答卷了。
恐惧还是爱？改变世界！行动远远胜于言语！——
“用爱发电意难平”，创作大概率是这个世界上性价比最低的事情。没有所谓的一分耕耘一分收获。你以为创新是魅力四射的事情——但其实人们，或是说商业眼光，从来比你想象中要守旧传统。

wb上有人发了一条《爱乐之城》的石头姐遇见《倒数时刻》的加菲，还有人发了一条超凡蜘蛛加菲遇见平行宇宙Spider-Woman Gwen，感觉吃了双份的过期玻璃渣狗粮...............
挺好的，但就不时插入的舞台剧好令人出戏，特别是男女主角吵架的时候插的那段，男主角和女演员的那个表演特别滑稽，使得吵架都失去了戏剧张力。另外看到有人说歌比拉拉蓝好听是认真的吗。
去吧，去过一个被爱被梦想去驱动的人生吧，这很老掉牙，但总比躺平棒！听到了吗，人生的倒计时一刻不停……
诺大可发挥空间最后却靠LGBT故事来燃情。
导演居然是林聚聚 震惊一秒 导演很聪明没有选择Jon更加戏剧性的作品rent 而是选择了他并不出名的tick,tick...boom 这部他从毫无名气到被业内认可 最终或许是前作的失败铸就了他真正的成功 很喜欢导演用舞台剧当作内心独白 穿插在Jon的人生画面里 虽然中间有些部分过度煽情持中立态度 但通过这部电影 让我们稍稍了解了一下这位耀眼的天才 愿Jon在天堂继续他下一部 下下部 下下下部作品 他的才华终究会被更多的人看到 waiting for your next one
林-曼努尔·米兰达确实是有才，这个电影我感触太多了，Jonathan Larson，Respect.
前半段很寻常的一步一步来叙事甚至在视听语言上没什么亮点，后面则直接爆发，也对应了标题吧
用音乐剧的方式拍了一个音乐剧人物创作音乐剧的过程，电影呈现出非常有层次感的叙事，刻意加快节奏，切换视角都很好营造出主人公的生活状态以及心境。影片不乏魅力与动人的瞬间，但整体并没有深入到我内心，无论是音乐部分还是传记部分。加菲演的无可挑剔，但又让我产生换作他人会不会更不同的念头，虽然奔着冲奥去的品质，在我这里没有很喜欢。
"They are singing happy birthday, you just wish you could run away."
除了不喜欢大部分的音乐之外没有缺点。Sunday的cameo太棒了，说这部电影是音乐剧爱好者的复联Endgame不为过。今年的三十岁焦虑真多啊。
