The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 故事性太差，编剧粗俗，洗澡有鬼手帮忙摸头是很恐怖，但是不需要乱用好吗？冥婚的目的，就是要找一个无辜的老公，有事没事用鬼脸吓他？这是冥婚？还是对观众智商的侮辱！
不能算是电影，像是小短剧的样子，只提供高能供之消遣
除了人体模特稍微有点氛围和逻辑，其它真的就是莫名其妙的一惊一乍
柬埔寨和马来的影像表达虽然都很东南亚，潮湿、炫目、克制，但还是有很多的不同。
短小的都市传说，牙虫和红衣女超级无聊，敲墙壁那个演员好像肖战
冗长中带有温馨和诡异，梦境拍得很舒服，做了同款的梦
第一个故事女鬼复仇挺有意思的，直接就物理复仇了，分段式恐怖电影，冥婚最后拜堂的时候有点两极反转，女的像痴汉，男的像小媳妇。
蚍蜉无以撼树 甚至寸步难移
很喜欢前面三人行探索城市的部分，青春洋溢，活泼生动。以为能继续跟着他们在白楼穿梭，看朝气在迟暮里发散，但<三人成行，一人落单>或许也是这成长挽歌的一部分吧。这终究是导演个人对记忆和情感的凝视，白楼已倒，倒影依存。

这片子后半部分拧巴的我想杀人，章回体制导致我对这个故事的割裂感更强了，东南亚的湿热我没有感觉到，我只感受到了导演太多想表达的纠结在一起成为了一种沉重且沉闷的观影负担。
哎呀，每个短篇都是帅哥美女。现在鬼片对颜值都要求都这么高了吗？
主要是想看看柬埔寨的城市风貌，没想到是这么私人化的影像表达。看起来没法不困。

太拉了……剧情很老套……不过里面的帅哥美女还是能看看的
老梗杂烩，故事没头没尾，不知道拍的意义是什么，观众看的意义又是什么。
