The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看了评论有点懵，首先他们一家的饭馆就是会长当初给他们使用的，只是口头承诺会给用十几二十年，所以女孩父亲就自己贷款加盖了二楼，现在会长没有在承诺的期限要收回房产改建高尔夫球场，所以女主爸爸就去理论，接着就抢车发生了车祸，我个人觉得会长没有那么坏，前提还好心帮助他们一家，可是女主父亲自己嗜赌成性，导致家庭困难，员工工资也欠，再说女主本身就是不良少女，影片有个细节，就是女主每次想施暴的时候就会露出纹身，一方面是想吓唬别人，另一面可能给自己增加勇气，影片中没有绝对的坏人，而女主一家也不是像大家评论的弱势群体吧
三星半。其实还挺好看的，全程无第四面墙。选角用心了，每一个年轻演员都有我喜欢的作品。惊声尖叫和惊声尖笑真得有区别吗？这部就好好笑啊。

火炬是为了开启新双女主的故事吧，黑人兄妹存活估计也是为了下一部的故事线。但是槽点太多了，尤其是医院剧情，这么大医院没人？医生呢？就算不是杀手，你病人半夜有个事情还找不到人了。然后凶手中了这么多枪居然没事？
达妹说，这大概就是我去英国度了个假，体验了个生活，顺便赚了点钱，then nothing.啊！还学了英国口音。

居然用模仿犯这一招来延续剧情，不能说坏，也不是很巧妙的方法。
慕名着Ready Or Not导演+Scream老卡司而来，结果老卡司这一手好牌被打烂了，老卡司戏份少，成了配角，更让我无语的是Sidney电影都过半了戏份才渐渐多起来，还有一个卡司被写死了😭，老卡司们纯客串，无张力，不管怎样，情怀拉满，yeah✌
没有一个演技在线的，而且剧情拖沓，反派废话一大堆。

非常直率地承认自己炒冷饭的第五部，可是要连起来看才好吧，之前的几部已经过去那么久了，谁能记得起情节。情节不够独立，跟之前的牵连有点太强了……
