The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 改编自二战1943年西西里岛登陆战役，惊心动魄的欺敌战术，倒叙的电影叙事。真实事件背后的情报战也同样是好题材。虽然剧本中规中矩，部分不必要情节可以删减。
导演童心犹存，但本片绝非灵感之作。立意流于平凡，美术实在简陋。想象也始终缺乏，成片终于勉强。是电视剧的话还可以原谅，电影质感从缺。仿佛是导演自己才华的宫殿ceiling上的一个“巨型漏洞。
