The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 自由的代价是非常昂贵的，除了需要得到绝大多数人的支持，而且还需要革命者牺牲。
困惑期的故事看完总是觉得疲惫和无聊，看剧时内心反应也会是“这没必要、没必要”“这也是大可不必”

从影片中可以看出，导演和编剧带有一定的倾向性，落脚点是对种族运动的支持和同情，因此，对三名参与者在行动过程中所采取的行动，具有一定的美化意思。选取的几个角色也各有特点，三个为自由而战斗的“同志”，一个对种族问题有同情心的警察队长，一个司法部部长的女儿，具有深切的宽容、同情心，还有一个极力掩饰自己人种的混血儿等。影片的主题是把一场预先谋划的袭击案转化为一场不可预料的种族问题讨论会。
拍的过于立场化了，不喜，估计南非的观众口味决定的吧。

黑人为了自由，为了自身不被种族歧视而抗争之路，在有白人的世界一直那么艰难。这部影片也拍的很真实，充满了人性的张力。《误杀2》似乎和这个真实的故事很有相似。
