The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 但女主的颜值实在是接近了《闪灵》的女主，看到一个个男人前赴后继，完全不能入戏啊。
十五岁的少年和25岁的女人之间会有真挚的感情，但是25岁的女人和37岁的男人之间是不会有的。
可以说是导演PTA的一次对70年代美国的私人且任性的追忆，很多年代人物和事件的跨文化梗没能完全理解，甚至有些癫狂过头，不过好在关于青春的展现多少有些共情和感染力，影像的复古质感和镜头的娴熟调度也是一如既往的精彩。
故事看似散漫，却又从来只关乎他们两个人，仿佛一切都在为他们的拥抱推波助澜。

当PTA爱上日剧跑。莫名其妙的开始，莫名其妙的经过，莫名其妙的结局。
★★★☆ 因為他是Paul Thomas Anderson，所以對他只是拍了一個互相反復拉扯的愛情故事有些失望，少了他獨此一家的危險又迷人的毀滅氣質，或許這是已經步入50歲的叛逆期吧，不過還好，還是已然可以認出是他，把針藏進了棉花糖裡，沒有對70年代洛杉磯盲目加上回憶濾鏡，對破碎與迷茫並為粉飾。好久沒看Sean Penn的作品了，差點忘了他曾經是我最愛的演員，久別重逢，他依然迷人。
剧情线索环环嵌套，G5更像是对Brony群体的复写啊，篝火那段确实挺感动的。话说这次G5剧情真的很G3，我记得几年之前也有过“G4是G3很久之前”的猜测……
他们都有野心，都嫉妒，都深爱，于是互相伤害。闲散的情节裹在爱情的外部，把人物关系分段，每一处几近奇幻的段落都为人物关系带来新的问题，发现对方的弱点或自己的弱点。女性极目远眺后的温情回望，男性的自尊中成长。好在用不那么精致，真实的情节描写了爱情关系里人内心的细处。

选角有问题，前部分经典的PTA式配乐，后半部分终于不乱了，但是故事离谱到我根本不知道在干什么，有必要2个多小时吗？就是好难看啊好难看。

是没看过这个类型的爱情片，可也不咋感人啊，无法共情
一开始想说除了女主腿其他都不行，没想到从一半往后越来越上头，舒缓的准确的刻画了一个年代，很重的道理浅浅的表达。
结局是我没想到的。这片跟《好莱坞往事》一个性质，导演玩得开心的那种。
第一次在Edinburgh Filmhouse看电影；作为一部PTA也太无聊了…everybody seems to be walking right out of some shitty porn…果然中年男人怀旧就只剩下插播时代金曲和国际大事了
