The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 故事本身最后吉伦哈尔的自我救赎来的多少有点儿牵强。
剧情很乏味，更多是靠内心戏的不断体味，老美太喜欢拍这种内心的自我成长了，与现实相比，勇气太难。
星星主要是给jake的，看到演职员表，居然有ethan hawke，不知道哪个角色是他配音。

这种叙事结构的影片让我想起了另外两部电影 汤姆哈迪的洛克和瑞恩雷诺兹的活埋，与之相比这部是最差的。

作为一个人的独角戏，本片其实不太值得去影院，更适合Netflix上观看。故事就发生在几米的距离里，全程只见男主一个人对着电话冲不同的人喊了1个多小时。不过影片也再次展示了杰克·吉伦哈尔过硬的演技，一个人撑起整部影片，就算一直只盯着他的脸居然也不会烦。老吉的表演紧紧抓住观众神经，让观众只能从他的叙述中知道破碎的信息，跟他一样因为无法了解真相而如坐针毡。不过他出演的警员确实太不适合担任911接线员工作了。
7/10 老吉独角戏，全程飙演技。看完查卡司才发现有这么多大牌献声，真是厉害。
