The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 内容还算饱满，不是特别有趣，但是整体的编排和演员的表演吸引人。前段按照GAGA大女主爽文的路子开展，从女主的视角去认识去了解GUCCI，很顺滑。从女主老公出轨要与女主离婚开始，完全抛开女主，单纯讲GUCCI，视角转变让故事有些割裂，最后还是回归到女主买凶杀夫。3.5//每个角色都有自己的个性，人生的起伏，唯独女主老公人设有些怪，他的背景很丰富（生在豪门、父母恩爱但父亲霸道、自己考律师等等），但前期作用仅仅是配合女主、突出女主，他出轨后好像有了个性就马上下线，整体呈现有些“傻白甜”，就不合理啊//GAGA表演很好，让人只能看到角色看不到她，脸还是微僵。//光是看里面人抽烟，看得我被呛到了
4-…太长了是个缺点，但总的来说还不错，有一种很古怪的趣味感，就好比片子里司机哥说他要把gucci做成梵蒂冈加上时尚感（似乎是这句），这个片子也有点这种时空错乱的混搭感，塑料意大利腔的英语挺搞笑，Gaga演的挺好的，但演的最好的还是莱托，不看演员表真的没认出来…

猜测应该是导演自己的故事，所以整体还挺真诚的，因为真诚所以可以忽略一些故事和技术上的缺点。

整体感觉确实平，大部分角色从头平到尾，当然导演要负主要责任。两个半小时不如拍个迷你剧算了，拉成六集或者八集更合适。
感觉看了个Netflix肥皂剧 看不出来是雷导的作品 cast也有点浪费 种马哥哥穿suit是真的可以

【7.5】这一大家子精彩的爱恨情仇啊，我合理怀疑这是一部喜剧片，全是荒诞的黑色幽默。片子很一般，很多剧情特突然，有点在糊弄的感觉。（给ashes to ashes整整一颗星星🥰）（第五十五分钟才认出莱托...）
真的是又臭又长了，配乐多得跟不要钱似的，他们演得累，观众看得也累。
更像是一部主角的自述，电影感反而没那么强。最令人诟病的几处其实也是最真实的几处：爸爸们之间的谈话、“最好的朋友”、三十岁结婚的约定在二十九岁打破……也许现在东亚女性之间能展现出的爱更多的就像是那个耳饰硬插进没有耳洞的耳垂，虽然经历过操场间拥吻的勇敢无畏，但最后还是回归“我盛装出席参加你的婚礼，你和别人的婚礼。”哎，那是爱情啊，你们都知道的不是吗？
完全靠对司机的迷恋看完了电影。Gaga所有的电影都不吝露肉，可惜身材并不怎样。

关于金钱和权利如何让一对原本相爱的恋人互相憎恨并杀掉其中一个的流水账。故事主要卖点是猎奇，真实改编。节奏莫名其妙，毫无疑问女主在推动所有剧情。她尬追男主，追上了要结婚生孩子，她要帮丈夫夺回gucci，她要干掉敌人，她要杀掉丈夫。而她从始至终都是一以贯之的狼性，不是改变的那个，夺回权力前后人格改变的是丈夫。这个电影违背了基本的电影规则。多给一星为了摄影灯光。还有亚当和gaga贡献的XXOO。道德观可以说是一塌糊涂。对男主和Gaga都无法共情…………
本片集男权对女同刻板印象之大成。🤷
断裂开，看不到人物，也看不到关系，感觉像保研生交大四选修课的作业。
