The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 不是公主愛皇子的情節，但也算大路而在預計之中。婆婆努力維持魔法屋外面風光的形象令人想起某人……主角雖沒有神奇力量，卻可以改變眾人的命運。另外般奴舅舅其實幾搞笑及可愛。
挺有意思的，暗喻家庭的代沟，但是不管分歧只要爱这个家，就会美好。家永远是自己的岗位。
音乐还不错，剧情不太好，老妈太薄情了，失踪那么久的儿子都不管，还吐槽儿子不想回家，孙女不想嫁的人她非要嫁，没魔法的孙女就被骂得狗血淋头，感觉是个势力的老太婆，这个老太婆一句对不起就结束惩罚，有点恶。
感觉是墨西哥歌舞片，感觉冰雪奇缘以后不唱歌就不是迪斯尼了。
尽管如此，影片的主题依旧值得称赞。就像《蜘蛛侠》所表达的，每一个平凡的人都可以成为英雄，《魔法满屋》也告诉我们什么是真正的奇迹，真正的魔法。
1.拉美难民寻梦美国的故事，美国梦的论述就是你就是就是奇迹。2.还有家族价值观的传递，只有对家族有用才能证明自己的存在。3.内核是被蔑视者求得权力者承认的故事。4.战火中的三个婴儿（如果我没看错的话）：拉丁裔、黑人以及原住民，能指所指已经呼之欲出，他们的 gift 很显然就是建设美国和通过特长服务社区以融入主流社会。4.真正普世的可以贯通东西方的价值观是家族，儒家这一套真的很可以。然而我所有的努力都为了摆脱那个长子长孙的身份。所以，没法喜欢这样的叙事。
伊莎贝拉的人设太不新鲜了，简直是乐佩艾莎宝嘉康蒂三者合体。Bruno的隐藏地点莫非参考了《寄生虫》？
最近吹迪士尼有点过了，果然翻车了，和《½魔法》差一个档次，矛盾冲突解决的莫名其妙，也没有真正意义上的反派，后半段就挺懵的，唯一可圈可点的是，大力妹子还有姨妈的那两首配乐挺好听
一天的心情都因为这部电影变好了。

只喜欢Bruno，全片只有Bruno能看。其他人都在说什么屁话。
本以为魔法屋和外婆背后隐藏着什么黑暗的秘密，然而修复魔法屋的方法竟然是米拉贝去拥抱伊莎贝拉，这剧情是迪士尼动画写出来的？
感觉不错哦，老少皆宜，一大家子人一起去看的
这创意是有点灵感枯竭的意思，不过悬疑解密部分完成度还行，可惜高潮再次回到套路。近年迪士尼家庭主题的故事基本从少数族裔那找，有色人种某种程度像是传统守旧的代言词。
这个格局真的是迪士尼吗？带一丢丢惊悚气氛有那么几分好感，但是本片本身就是期待值低，观后还真的对得起这个“低”了。
设定塞太满（哥伦比亚也太有魅力了），更想看家人挨个儿唱歌。

20220113百丽宫。媒体邀请专场。迪斯尼的爆米花，真是不太适合我这个年龄看了，唱歌跳舞太多了。
非常迪士尼，这不一定是坏事。但是戏剧冲突在哪里？什么矛盾都在一首歌里解决了，编剧有点偷懒。
魔法和惊奇都存在于日常，于是不用再远行冒险；反派是抽象的“历史”，于是也不再需要有反派，非常特别的一部迪士尼公主片，LMM黑也意外地听得很开心。歌舞戏回归歌舞片本来的作用，完成了所有情感和情节的转折，电影的逻辑和人物设置也更偏向传统歌舞片，2021真是一个歌舞回潮大年。
