The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 震惊我的是这么无聊呆板的故事里还是有清晰的人物动机和发展的 很标准古典的剧本
要不是因为Issac 不至于看这片 太催眠了
诡异迷幻的视觉风格，冰冷的超广角镜头，主角的呢喃，时而出现的呼吸声，一切都是那么的讨人喜欢，只是节奏慢的沉闷了。施拉德笔下的人物都是布满伤疤的，将镜头对准他们的时候就将是他们用得到的伤害去做同等的反击，完成自我的救赎

想起了PTA的赌城纵横，故事简单却处处透着作者的气息。情节没那么复杂算计，也没有浮夸的爱恨纠葛，有的只是一个祈求宽恕的男人。最好的一点还在于不煽情。
说实话，本作卡斯阵容也相当不错：
看得好费劲啊…明明是一个赌博片儿，生生弄成了文艺片，然后配乐我真的想问一句，老搞的那么rua何必呢……

冤有头债有主。
质感出挑，单场戏很棒，整体却力有未逮，端着而无法下沉。倒是奥斯卡·伊萨克，头发一梳，从头有型到尾。
手，算牌的手，喝酒的手，写作的手，在背上上纹人生信条的手，高举呐喊USA的手，鞭打囚犯的手，杀人的手，因复仇而断掉的手，爱的手。
节奏很慢，也并非赌片。静下心来，看到最后，实际上就是内心的反思与自我救赎。不花哨，但沉静有爱。
保罗.施拉德这一次特别给劲儿！这部和他的上一部作品《第一归正会》真的是一样一样的，同样是两个几乎毫无关联的母题，又在一百多分钟的时间里使其串联在一起。还是那样荒诞的剧本、错位的人物、谜题一般的主角、迷幻的配乐，使整部电影充满了保罗.施拉德特有的吊诡气质。
好无聊的电影。。。我在电影院玩了两局王者。。。

宝刀不老 典型老爷子的sensational movie 刻意地使用数字感极强的影像和现代化到浮夸的奇观 直接喊话政府 后悔没在影院上的时候看一遍大银幕 总让美国队长赢钱这事是不是太on the nose了
又是一部故作玄虚的电影，没有什么精彩刺激的“算牌”对决，各种政治化的比喻让人无聊
