The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 工整的“踩点式”剧本，匠气重，让我想起《婚姻故事》的写法。男主从人设到表演都很端着。 影片整体中规中矩，故事发展全在人意料之中，但女演员结尾处获得高潮后发自内心的愉悦的笑容，及对着镜子与自己坦诚相见的样子，仍然令人动容。我们需要更多关注女性的电影。 （在一场性交易中，女性作为付费的一方，作为逻辑上的剥削者，却仍然下意识将自己放于被凝视的位置，担心自己会不会太老、身体会不会太丑。这是一个不比女性欲望轻松的女性困境。）

非常好看的小品式电影，两人一室，对话支撑情节，两位主演优雅的气质让一场令人不齿的性交易变得浪漫充满了趣味。相互救赎的好莱坞烂俗桥段，却是建立在一场性交易的设定让电影有了新意，这部电影的核心表达依然是快感是一种力量，把自己的快感握在自己手里，可以带来非常解放的人生体验。
