The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 现实与理想总有差异，只能在电影和戏剧中寻找慰藉。
带着看烂片的心态去看，所以没有失望，还是可以笑出很多次的，节奏不错，虽然很多套路都是你能想的到的，但是演员的演绎还是能给你带来一点惊喜。也确实适合大过年的一家人在电影院看，热闹，笑就完事了。
确实是意料之外的惊喜，虽然还未看过日本原片，但这片的改编比起去年的《人潮汹涌》肯定是好上不少。魏翔低头哈腰说“谢谢吉米哥”时，许冠杰的《天才白痴梦》简直点睛之笔。

别拿魔幻主义来作为以上缺点的解释。
没想到会用这样一个男主来演，原版的男主不还挺帅的，而马丽的戏份少得多。这种喜剧就是看过了就看过了，没有什么好回味的
3.5，意料之外的还可以，有好几处改动，尤其是引入演员演杀手的设计，比原版合理很多。只不过原版那种，生活与电影交杂的“魔幻时刻”，在剧情中没有体现，但是由主角魏翔的经历在片尾片花中展示出来了。演员的整体颜值也太emmm
没失望，够好笑！吉米与意大利人交易那场戏全片最佳！
好笑的部分都是等比翻拍原片来的，自己加戏的小人物悲喜剧又臭又长，不是拼贴周星驰和三谷幸喜就能笑中带泪的啊！最搞笑的依然是初见黑帮老大那场，错位、反复，技巧纯熟而高明。模仿教父的交易火拼戏、杀哈维两场还可以，剩下加的群演如何戏痴、亲情戏都内心毫无波动，杀了老大后救马丽这段则如坐针毡了，想着怎么还没完啊！magic商会和moment商会的彩蛋有心了，但加再多迷影元素，对比起扬名立万，也是有匠气无灵气罢了。
迷影情意结应该是核心了，雨中曲、教父等等。但处理得非常生硬，就生搬硬套，缺乏韵味。喜剧的部分有少许可乐的地方，但大部分时候即使笑了也是硬咯吱人。黑帮的部分悬浮。有关人物和感情的部分和迷影情结的问题类似，生硬，好像直白的分段小学生作文。
但真的能看出各种元素拼凑的痕迹
垃圾，还不如不改编。。。一年一年的翻拍来圈钱，这是对华语电影的一种侮辱。
马丽魏翔太好笑啦简直就是喜剧的模本，精彩的剧情和演技
只比未成功
这种成功基础在于剧本的巧妙的翻拍片，最大的可悲之处就是从核心创意到执行层面都是别人的东西，你做成功了只能证明原创团队的国际化水准，跟你翻拍团队没啥太大关系。同理是《误杀》。不过如果创作者跟投资客只在乎票房，从这点来说，这种翻拍的做法以后会越来越多，唉。
