The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 东木真的是老了，没有了过往作品的冲突与矛盾，剩下的尽是岁月带来的平缓和温柔，但从头至尾看完也是给人一种舒适的感觉。如果可以，还是希望他可以一直拍下去。

故事有点散，有点像美国旅游宣传片，搞笑还是依然搞笑，就是情节一般。
看完感觉最合适的译名是《哭着喊着要当汉子》，潜台词是“然后呢？呵呵”。不过老头儿拍片不苛演员演技的问题又犯了，小演员这演技有点尬，不敢恭维，不忍苛责。
带点哥特风的公路电影？！自我认同，家族认同的老把戏，整体乏善可陈。勉强可看。
